DarkOne, admin and General PR of the Middle Earth mod has posted some very interesting news at the forums:

Currently the Middle Earth mod has 38,106 exterior cells, whereas morrowind has but 2000 or so, thats only *exterior* cells...no one's counted up the interiors yet.

Our biggest problem is going to be getting this mod onto the general public's PCs.

The mod is estimated to be anywhere from 800megs + in size...we're talking big.

Daerk has rented an OC32 (I think) server for two months, limited downloaders to broadband connections first, and then opening it up to the general public on a first come first served basis. I'm pretty sure all the devs will also have the mod on Kazaa, and I know Im going to be leaving my internet on all night with kazaa to let others leech off me.

People say "why cant you sell CDs" but then we'll be getting into trouble with not only Bethesda, but also the Tolkien Estate. If anyone has any other ideas then let them be heard!

Yay! 800 megs! Now all you LOTR fans have a good reason to get broadband :) By the way, release date is stated at 18th of December.
