Despite the emphasis on monthly events and a dynamic story, there is no real solution to the twin problems of weak role-playing and the somewhat generic quests. Despite these shortcomings, which, to be fair, are shared by all of the current generation of massively multiplayer online RPGs, "Asheron's Call 2" is an enjoyable, addictive game that offers much for fans of the genre.
