This is from an interesting thread at the Dungeon Siege forums, writtrn by Dave "PegLeg" Dunniway from Gas Powered Games. He explains how terrain is built in Dungeon Siege, and what it means for those who want tobuild their own levels:

"The terrain is built out of nodes. They're like tiles but more flexible. We've built a node for just about every terrain feature we could think of... rock walls, bridges, fences, ruins, tombstones, chicken coops, the list goes on and on. Siege Editor lets you snap these nodes together using any layout you wish."
