Multi Player Zone has a ´preview of Neocron up and running (thanks gaminggroove). Actually, it is part one of a two part article, and here's a part of it:
And so for the combat, the big twist in this sci-fi adventure. Taking a quick stroll across the city to the job centre I got my first mission and what a mission it was. Kill 5 diseased rats, woo, and indeed, hoo. So off I trundle down to the sewers to find me some Rat, armed with what has got to be the coolest Freddie Kruger tribute weapon, a bladed glove that unfortunately makes a rather strange sound. I spotted my first prey a mangy looking rat loitering by the bins, so up I run a quick duck and a tap of the fire button, a red 24 floats into the sky and the rat has gone to heaven, or hell depending on whether he was a good diseased rat or not. The kill was reasonably satisfying but I wanted to try out the serious stuff, so I used the teleport tip I’d been given to find myself some action. Instantly transported to the base of a tower in the middle of a wasteland with some hulking behemoth of a creature bearing down on me, I immediately let loose a volley of Rockets with a satisfying whoosh as a big red 35 floats out of the creatures body. The dance of death with the ugly creature goes on for quite some time, which is good because it gives me the chance to try out some of the other weaponry that I picked up on my travels. |
