Spanish site BlueMonday has a nice preview of Disciples 2 - Sacred Lands. Look at this bit about unit upgrades:
Unit upgrades have been vastly improved with many new possibilities. Units advance using a branching tree of options, that you manage by constructing the appropriate building in your Capital, leading your army to different specializations.
When Leaders gain a level you can choose between different abilities, like learning how to use certain artifacts (i.e. runes that give them new skills), or improving their leadership, to make them lead bigger armies to battle.
I won’t go into the details of this process (after all, I didn’t get to see that many different units), but the decisions you take regarding unit progress multiply the strategic possibilities, and could even make you want to replay a mission, just to see what would happen if you choose a different path.
One thing that seemed a little awkward is that a Leader can only exchange artifacts or items by leaving them inside a town, waiting for one of his colleagues to pick them up. Maybe it’s just me, but it doesn’t feel too unreasonable to let them exchange stuff anywhere they want. |
