It's a sad day for Westwood as EA closed the doors of the Las Vegas-based studios. Rumors about the consequences of this have been going around quite wildly, especially regarding the future of Earth & Beyond. The official E&B-site was just updated however with this announcement. The live team will be moving to the EA facility in Redwood Shores, California. Altough not all Westwood Employees will remain in the team, this will not directly affect Earth & Beyond.

What does this mean for the Earth & Beyond customer? Basically, E&B will continue to operate much as it has in the past. The game will remain available to you during our transition, and we will continue to update and work on the game. EA is still committed to E&B, and the core team is still in place.

We don't know yet how this will affect our patching and development cycle, but we will let you know more as we adjust our schedules. As you might expect, this change will also personally affect all employees on the E&B team, as we will now have to go through the transition of moving to the San Francisco area.

We thank you for your patience and continued support as we make this transition. Rest assured that we remain committed to the game and hope to keep delivering fun and compelling gameplay to you for a long time to come.
