Might & Magic IX: 3DO Statement

I guess just about everyone was surprised at the revelations concerning Might & Magic IX that were posted at Norwegian gibme.com yesterday. We have E-mailed gibme.com and asked them to share their sources with us but they unfortunately havenīt replied to (at least) 2 E-Mails so far.
In the meantime, GameSpot has asked 3DO to comment on the gibme.com article and they have posted the outcome of their investigation right here.
The following snippet can be interpreted in multiple ways. But if you ask me Iīd say that gibme.com has come very close to the facts if not hit the bullīs eye. If gibme.com were totally wrong it would have been the usual procedure that 3DO would have dismissed the whole article. But that is just IMHO. Make of it what you want.

    ...According to 3DO, the game is still too early in development to release definite information, and most of the details in the article are still subject to change. In particular, the company representative noted that the title mentioned in the article, Might and Magic IX: Writ of Fate, is inaccurate, and while the game will use the LithTech 3D engine, the version number has yet to be determined...
