RPG Vault has posted the first part of an interview they have had with Senior Producer Rick Hall about EA's/Origin's MMORPG 'Ultima X: Odyssey'.
Jonric: What other facets of the game also reflect this philosophy of trying to provide a different experience? How about the quest system?

Rick Hall: A feature we're focusing a lot of attention on is the questing. We're taking quests much farther than the standard "fetch and carry" errands that appear to be the status quo. In the traditional Ultima fashion, questing will be heavily based on the Virtues. There will be multiple branches in every quest, each providing different outcomes, and each rewarding the character with a different virtue. If you're asked to rescue a captive, for instance, you may find a path that allows you to understand the captors and solve their problem in order to resolve the quest peacefully. In that instance, you might get Honor or Compassion as a reward. Then again, if you decide to just charge right in and start hacking, you might be rewarded with Justice or Valor. In either case, there's no wrong answer, and your character will be rewarded as long as he rescues the victim.
