Games Domain has written a report about their visit at Artifact Entertainment, the team that develops Horizons: Empires of Istaria. There will be a second part tomorrow (and thus a link to it here, too :-)), but this is how the first part begins:
To spend any amount of time with Artifact Entertainment's David Bowman (president and creative director) or Steve Snow (producer) is tantamount to spending time with a couple of casual, skilled -- and oh yeah, definitely geeky -- goofball charisma-cult leaders. Right or wrong, there's a by-God VISION here, and if you're not careful, it's easy to get caught up in their boundless enthusiasm before you know what the hell is going on. For the record, what's going on is Horizons, Artifact's upcoming massively multiplayer online opus. It's a persistent high-fantasy world, with what (at this stage) looks like the greatest emphasis on community ever put in -- ever conceived of being put in -- a MMORPG to date.
