In cooperation with Lyra Studios, makers of Underlight, an interesting and unusual MMORPG with a large and loyal fanbase, RPGDot is happy to be able to offer you an extended playtesting period of two months for this game. This offer is valid throughout February

What makes Underlight so different? Most computer role-playing games simulate role playing. In RPGs before Underlight, most or all of the people in the game were fake, computerized representations of people. Regardless of how good the artificial intelligence was behind these NPCs (Non-Player Characters), they weren't real people. Underlight is truly a living, breathing world because it revolves around people, not simulations of them. Artificial intelligence is limited only to monsters. In Underlight, everyone who plays contributes to the story. Instead of responding to quests that have been pre-written or randomly generated, the players are the story.

These are the easy steps to get your extended playtesting account:

1: Visit http://www.underlight.com and download the game software at http://www.underlight.com/php/info/download.php.

2: Go to the Accounts page at https://asmodeus.lyrastudios.com/cgi-bin/billing.cgi and create a new Lyra Account as well as a primary character. When entering your contact information, be sure to enter "RPGDot" in the "Referred by" field. You will not be charged for this as all new players get a free trial period. As an RPGDot reader, you will receive a credit on top of that for an extended two months of free play.

3: Once your account has been created, e-mail accounts@lyrastudios.com with your Lyra Account name as well as the name of your character and the fact that you are a RPGDot reader. Your account will be credited with the appropriate free time as soon as possible.
