HomeLan Fed has conducted the first in a series of upcoming interviews with Artifact Entertainment about Horizons. This interview is with the MMORPG's lead server developer Mike Roberts:
    HomeLAN - Finally, why should everyone reading this be excited about Horizons?

    Mike Roberts - To set a new standard of immersion for players, our server process is distributed, somewhat similar in concept to Seti@Home. We don't run the simulation on player's computers but we do use many computers at our facility to do what one cannot. Players in the same geographical region don't necessarily have to be handled by the same server node. This means that densely-populated areas won't have the limitations players are accustomed to. In addition, the game continues to play itself if no one is logged in...
