The Dragon's Breath Forge has posted an interview with Black Isle Studios' artist Jason Manley about various games he has worked on. This is something about Icewind Dale (he refuses to comment on rumors about Icewind Dale 2, though *g*):
3. What's your overall thought of Icewind Dale, including its expansions? What do you think should have been improved?
I was very satisified with our efforts on Icewind Dale. We really did the best we could on that project given the time and manpower we had. I really feel like we created a game that was much better than had been anticipated.
If I could improve anything...hmmm...Id say that Id like to have more of the kits included as well as some of the options from BG2 that would make the game have more depth in regards to character creation and race. I enjoy the process of character creation and the more the better as far as I am concerned. We wanted an old school D&D experience and am happy with the results of that endeavor.
As far as HOW is concerned. I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed concepting it out with the designers and I was very happy contibuting to the rest of the art as well. Now that the Downloadable dungeon pack (Trials of the Luremaster) is available I am satisfied with HOW. All three titles together make for a very well rounded game set in my eyes. |
