Jolt has fired up a review of the 'Shadow of the Phoenix' expansion for 'SpellForce'. Rating: 6.9/10.
Games which straddle two genres are usually annoyingly disjointed, assuming they don’t hopelessly fall between two stools in the first instance. There’s an exception to most rules though, and in this case, that exception is SpellForce. Merging an RPG with an RTS may sound like a recipe for disaster, but it’s a mix that SpellForce has managed to competently pull off since the release of The Order of Dawn. Following the first expansion pack Breath of Winter, the final part of the trilogy has now been released.
