Games Domain posted a preview of Lionheart. Here's a little serving from that one:
Some of the special skill and "perk" designations are priceless, too - "Words as Weapons" leaps particularly to our editorially bent minds. Magic-using characters can throw spectacular lightshows of wizardry, including short-lived defensive shields that can overlap and coexist with previously launched combat spells. Part of the fun is finding a combination that works particularly effectively before running roughshod with it over a dungeon's worth of nasties.
The game appears to be less, in the end, about a character's particular racial inclinations than it is about active alignment (in the sense of loyalty)... and the actual choices players make during the game. You'll also be able to join the ranks of the Knights Templar, the Saladin, or even the Inquisition itself (perchance for a little Clint Eastwood play-the-factions-against-each-other action)! |
