We here at HoMM-Dot have found another HoMM5 preview, this time at GameSpy:The good news for fans of the franchise is that there's an option for Heroes of Might & Magic that's not available to those old bands -- a new developer and a new publisher and a new lease on life for one of turn-based strategy gaming's most enjoyable and accessible franchises. We recently got an opportunity to take a look at the latest version of the game. It looks like Nival, the game's new developer, understands that in order to move the franchise forward, they first must take a step back. Based on our limited time with the game, it seems as though Heroes of Might & Magic V has been stripped away all of the changes that marred the badly flawed Heroes of Might and Magic IV and come back to the elegance of previous iterations of the series -- and I, for one, couldn't be happier. |
