Cory has rated 2/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Cory)

Stupid game, boring, repetitive, and it feels like the only reason anyone would want to buy it is to see blood spray all over

Rendelius has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Rendelius)

At the time, it was the most addictive game. Brought a lot of people to RPGs, although it wass only a RPG light. I enjoyed it nevertheless...

ofoglada has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from ofoglada)

GhanBuriGhan has rated 7/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from GhanBuriGhan)

A great game in its own right, but as a RPGer I found it severely lacking in story, NPC interaction, unique locales, etc.

harpua has rated 5/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from harpua)

fun, but only for about 20 minutes

Brian Witte has rated 3/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Brian Witte)

Made my wrist hurt. I didn't bother finishing it. Why is this even considered a role-playing game when there was no dialog? Very few bugs, at least.

Snowqueen has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Snowqueen)

I thought it was fun. First non-puzzle or quiz game that I really enjoyed. Soundtrack was very creepy.

Tarq has rated 9/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Tarq)

Was an excellent game for the first 2 months when the game was dupe/hack/cheat free. After that the game turned to pure and utter crap.

WildWilber has rated 5/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from WildWilber)

HiddenX has rated 2/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from HiddenX)

no challenge at all - more then boring.

Lucky Day Dragon has rated 1/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Lucky Day Dragon)

Here's to the genius in marketing who thot that would be great design for box art and a great name. Yeah, every parent rushed out to buy that for their kids. It must have been the sales figures for Ultima 8 that inspired them - or going for that core base of "Rush" fans who also play video games.

matt has rated 7/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from matt)

Calis has rated 6/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Calis)

This game revived the roguelike hack & slash action RPG genre as a mass-market product. It coupled nice graphics with addictive gameplay and a spiffy multiplayer mode. For its time, it was an excellent game, but it gets real boring after a while. If you want to try your hand at the hack & slash genre, I recommend you check out something more recent.

Lintra has rated 9/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Lintra)

I still play this years after it's release. It is great when I get home from work feeling really PO'd at the world...an unparrelled way to blow off steam.

algy has rated 7/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from algy)

Superfluid has rated 1/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Superfluid)

"Point, Click, Click. Point, Click, Click. Point, Click, Click. Point, Click, Click.

Neovalis has rated 1/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Neovalis)

Superfluid, I couldn't have said it better. Why is this game even considered an rpg?

drizzt big boy has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from drizzt big boy)

this game was awesome. fun finally came back to games.

DarkPogo has rated 9/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from DarkPogo)

Star Scream has rated 1/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Star Scream)

This is NOT an RPG game. What the hell..

Semprini has rated 5/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Semprini)

Tiltowait has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Tiltowait)

Common people. It's Diablo! Sure, it's not a heavily in depth RPG but you have to admit, it was hard to stop playing once you got started. It did have some memorable RPG elements in it. I can't think of too many off hand, but they were there.

Diktronic has rated 4/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Diktronic)

Far too slow to play for more than half an hour without being bored of walking everywhere. Being fair I bought this after Diablo II so it had a lot to live up to...

kleven has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from kleven)

Very fun game. Multiplayer with friends get you hooked ;)

JDR has rated 2/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from JDR)

terrible - not a an RPG

Niektoory has rated 3/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Niektoory)

blackicye has rated 5/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from blackicye)

Game gets a 10 rating for revolutionary concept and execution, but online play on battle.net was a joke. Dupers and cheaters pwned this game from the second or third week of launch rendering online multiplayer a total waste of time.

sergio has rated 5/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from sergio)

Arhu has rated 7/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Arhu)

Same comment as for the sequel: The single player mode is mediocre, agreed, but this game is meant to be played with other players, and in multiplayer mode the gameplay is perfect. I believe everyone who voted <= 5 points for this game has only played single player and thereby missed the point, unfortunately. I rate it 5 for SP, 10 for MP, leaves 7.5 - I'll make it 7 because Diablo 2 was kind of the same, but improved a lot on this one.

RobKob has rated 6/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from RobKob)

It was innovative, had decent graphics, good atmosphere and was, at least for a while, fun. It's not an RPG though, only simple hack'n slash. I liked this one more than its severely overhyped successor Diablo II.

Markus has rated 7/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Markus)

Not an RPG. Still fun, but I only played through once. Diablo 2 slightly better.

Jacko has rated 5/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Jacko)

If you like the hack and slash "RPGs," Diablo is the brainchild of modern creations like Dungeon Siege and Icewind Dale. I find these games boring, but if you enjoy them, this is the one to own.

Val has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Val)

I admit it, I was addicted. I liked it more than Diablo 2. I still love the town music.

Sony666 has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Sony666)

Simple, fun and addictive. This one is hard to rate... the brain says "NO, damn you! It's not an RPG", but I spent more time with Diablo 1 and 2 than with any other game, and it was GREAT fun. Anything but rating it a perfect 10 would be cheating myself.

Red! has rated 3/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Red!)

Mostly boring though addictive. Gets an extra point over Diablo 2 for at least being original at the time.

Artic Blaze Dragon has rated 5/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Artic Blaze Dragon)

Strangely addictive for such a boring game- not an RPG though- I liked D2 a lot more specialy with LoD

Shyguy has rated 5/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Shyguy)

Over-rated hack-n-shash game. Fun for a while but gets old pretty fast...Not enough variety or quests.

Friedrich Hanisch has rated 1/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Friedrich Hanisch)

I absolutely agree with Superfluid.

nesquiK has rated 2/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from nesquiK)

Ah ah ah! It's not a RPG!

Wizzban3 has rated 1/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Wizzban3)

This is no RPG !

Astaroth has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Astaroth)

I can't belive this game was rated so low in here. For me it was pure fun from the day one. Sure it's hardly an rpg, but that doesn't make it any worse.

Ed Nelson has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Ed Nelson)

Can't believe this game is rated so low. It's a fun game, and it introduced lots of people to rpg's. Admit it, you like this game :)

Dukkha has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Dukkha)

Not really rpg, but great atmosphere (the soundtrack iss awesome). A bit to much hack n slash.

Elbkhm has rated 6/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Elbkhm)

A lot of fun at first, until you get sick of the whole, point-and-click style of gameplay. It is long before you realize that it offers little over the rail-shooters of yester-year.

Ronaldo has rated 9/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Ronaldo)

A very enthralling game

woohoo has rated 9/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from woohoo)

when this game first came out it was the greatest now the grafics are obsoleet... for 2003 id rate it a 5

emil has rated 1/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from emil)

THIS IS NO RPG AT ALL! the game is 'run 'n slash' (no jumpings there)

Corak has rated 1/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Corak)

Click, click, click!

Craven Magic has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Craven Magic)

Wizards woot! Have to agree with Val, the town music can be very memorable. It's a good way to waste time, a better play if it is on lan or online, single player really suchs after a while. Sony666 also has a valid point, not an RPG but it can still be fun. Besides, if you don't play it before Diablo II then you miss out on the story line (wait...was there a story line? No... just lots of magic Mmmwwwaaahahahaahahaha) Wizards rule....end out.....

Miguel has rated 1/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Miguel)

Boring

Sladaar has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Sladaar)

voto 10 per alzare la media.è uno dei migliori giochi di sempre.nel suo ruolo,è secondo solo a diablo2.chiunque dia meno di 9,nn capisce una ceppa di videogiochi.che atmosfera......

Nilwarp has rated 5/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Nilwarp)

Probably the first game making a beat-them-all look like RPG. No role play here and a boring dungeon system, but the game is still addictive, probably because of the leveling up.

N00B has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from N00B)

The name of addiction

Metal_Dog has rated 3/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Metal_Dog)

Fun for the first 20 minutes of play. After that it becomes very boring very fast. A true hack 'n' slash type of game.

Kirati Laisathit has rated 6/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Kirati Laisathit)

As a game Diablo should have been rated 10, but as an RPG Diablo is a 6. Not much of an opportunity to interact with the environment aside from blasting the baddies to hell (literally) and back. No denying though, Diablo is a genre-defying game. A great deal of recent releases owe a great deal to this 1997 classic.

When it came out, it was revolutionary. The music, the fluid animated characters and monsters, the voices, the isometric view, the random equipment. You could feel the sorrow in Tristram ... And the actual backstory was pretty good. It stays hack and slash, but at the time, it felt like the best game in the world.

it's an isometric fps (really)... fun for a while but it ain't no rpg

deadraque has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from deadraque)

I played this game over and over and over again. It is absolutly addictive like hell. It has so much to offer especially the fun, something what game misses completly lately! Now they make it for money, that is the difference, it is the only game that had an option of completly have a new map at each start. One tip play it in Multiplayer mode (even if you are single player) so you won't be able to save and have to fight to get your stuff back after you die. Someting again what Diablo 2 destroyed... Anyway I think this is one of the best games I have ever played especially if we talk about the fun factor and multiplayer mode. True it isn't a real RPG, but wow what a kick we had. Those who never played and try it now, the new kids generations will probably hate it, but can't even imagine the hours fun we had at that time. If only they knew how deep it is. Remember the shrines, How many of us have been looking for thos Amulets of the Zodiac!!! The deadly Succubus demons and so much more and that the game makes 3 several levels after you reach level 20 or 30 bringing you new objects stronger mobs and so on made it look like an endless game. Absolute topper!

Jorion has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Jorion)

Maybe the most atmospheric game ever made.

Dr. Hoads has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Dr. Hoads)

While tough to play by todays standards, at the time of its release, this was an amazing game (graphics, sounds, ease of play) and just drew you in with its glitz. Would not reccomend by todays standards, but it would be fun to try if you have never played any DIABLO games before.

Mott has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Mott)

For its time it was revolutionary. I remeber playing it before people started to hack, what an amazing experience for the time. Now it it just way to old and to many people hack. But considering I played it in its prime I am not going to rate it low.

Definetly one of the best game ever - even if it's not an RPG - with beautiful interface and gameplay... Far better than Diablo II for example...

Crash1912 has rated 5/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Crash1912)

Was fun to play once in single player, but calling this a RPG is an insult for the whole genre. Almost no story, no plot, no NPC interaction or anything what you would associate with RPGs. Even the combat system were uninteresting, you just click your opponents to death with your mouse.

K-13 has rated 9/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from K-13)

I'm not a fun of hack n' slash rpgs, but we must all admit that this game created a new genre!Great atmopshere also!

Leshrac has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Leshrac)

Repetative? Perhaps, and the graphics and gameplay are old and surely dated. However, if you remember this game when it first appeared, it was awesome. Great graphics, sound track, and this game spawned a whole new genre of games (Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Sacred, Dungeon Siege and so many many more I cannot name). Truely a classic that had a huge impact on modern gaming.

It is The original action-rpg. period. It is simple, but highly addictive. Many sub-branch of action rpgs are created after Diablo came out. It is 10 years old game, but I still play it sometimes.
