Two more playing sessions will be held for A Tale in the Desert. Here is the info:
We're going to have two playsessions this week, a 2 hour session today, and a huge 8-hour session tomorrow:

    10/1/2001 4:00PM EST - 6:00PM (Starts at 9:00PM London time)
    10/2/2001 2:00PM EST - 10:00PM (Starts at 7:00PM London time)

Also, before each session, feel free to join us for a chat in the official IRC channel, irc.stratics.com:6667.

As we ended the last play session, research on Automation, Beekeeping, Casting, Advanced Charcoal Production and Basic Chemistry were awaiting funding at the Great Universities. Iron had been produced, as well as *very* limited amounts of copper. Production of iron and copper is a key to some of this research.

Here are some of the content areas that have been added or modified:
    - Charcoal
    - Apiaries
    - Dromedary Pens
    - Guilds
    - Cast Iron
    - Chests
    - Mining
    - Special Large Projects
    - Metal working

Here are some of the technical changes:

    - Major changes to how dialog boxes are handled internally.
    - Improved speed in crowded scenes.
    - Fixed a number of resource leaks. The client still slows down during very long sessions, but this is already much improved.
    - Launcher: The install has gotten smaller. It now consists of a launcher application that should very seldom change. This will automatically update the client as needed.

The latest version of the client can be downloaded from:
