BonusWeb.cz published a preview of Gothic 2, utilizing the same 8 leaked screenshots which surfaced two days ago. The surprisingly detailed text is packed with new infos.
Please remember Gothic 2 was not officially announced yet. Official informations are still unavailable, even for the German on- and offline press and the fan sites. All the infos should be taken as rumors!
Some snippets:
It will be probably finished in 2003, but we already have several exclusive information. The game will take place in same world as Gothic I, but outside the Colony. The story is not finished yet, but several new locations are already known - harbor town, monastery, library, large farm and 4 small farmyards, Dragon Island, a vast over-world (coast, fields, woods, meadows, barren land, ice desert etc.) and castle besieged by orcs. There will be of course some minor locations too, for example small dungeons, dragon lairs etc.
The AI of Gothic I is currently being completely reviewed. Proven mechanisms of Gothic I will be used in a slightly different way to give the player better feedback and to offer him greater challenge. Planned improvements include very genuine attack and fight behavior of human NPCs [...].
The game world will be more fanciful and diverse than in Gothic I. The main improvements will be extensive and better built towns, very detailed environment and higher texture resolution.
