Avault has reviewed Evil Islands, a real time strategy game structured around RPG elements (like monsters and magic), developed by russian Nival Interactive...

There are over 300 monsters, most quite fascinating and grotesque at the same time. You face goblins, orcs, ogres, skeletons, trolls, and all sorts of mangy fictional creatures, along with the usual assortment of real-life boars, lizards, rats, tigers, toads, and wolves. One of the biggest challenges is that many of them are considerably stronger than you are, so brute force will not suffice. Even though you may control up to three characters on your side, you may find yourself frequently overwhelmed; early in the gameplay, where your fighting abilities are scanty, everything can seem quite hopeless.
