They are telling the story of Megan, the voice that welcomes players when they enter the game: Megan's voice is so popular that she is receiving cult-like status from many test players. When one well-known line ("good to go!") was recently pulled out of the game's log-in sequence, players clamored to have it put back in. One player even wrote parody lyrics to a popular song so that they applied to Megan instead of "Layla." The irony is that the current voice for Megan was never intended to be part of the finished product. The recordings were just placeholders that were used to fill a void until voice actors could be utilized for the real thing. Megan's voice was recorded by a Westwood employee ("Megan" is not her real name) on a standard PC microphone.
