The Wargamer has reviewed the special edition of Funcom's MMORPG Anarchy Online which was originally released mid last year. Wargamer doesn't offer a score but instead this summary:
Overall, the Special Edition of Anarchy Online offers nothing new to the current Anarchy Online player, other than the extra CD, updated manual and nicer map. As it stands, though, a year after its initial release, Anarchy Online is a fantastic experience which is beginning to realize its potential. The game is very playable, despite a few remaining bugs and imbalances, and offers, potentially, years of online gameplay, and there's even an expansion coming in the fourth quarter of 2002. Experienced Anarchy Online users need not apply for the Special Edition, unless they just want the extras - they already know what the game is all about. New users can't, however, go wrong by plonking down the $20 it'll take them to pick up the game, and at least trying out the game for a free month to see if they'll like it. It's a wonderful game, and a great price for anyone new to the game.
