1) This time "Q&A" has to be taken literal. CDV has sent us one question they've asked Kirill Pokrovsky, the music producer of Larian Studios' fantasy RPG Divine Divinity and Kirill has one answer for us. CDV said there will be a more in-depth interview with Kirill next week.
Q: CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT THE MUSIC DEVELOPMENT IN DIVINE DIVINITY?
A: When composing the music for Divinity it was all about creating immersion
and atmosphere. Music plays a very important role in this, and we try
to pay a lot of attention to it.
The music system in Divine Divinity has two modes of operation. In the
first, several pieces of music seamlesly blend into each other as the
mood of the game changes. In the second, the music doesn't change as it
supports critical story moments or tries to build up tension. The following
pieces demonstrate what the music of Divine Divinity sounds like.
2) Second of all, CDV has provided us with links to the above mentioned Divinity mp3's. Unfortunately not a single one of the songs is really new. They have been available for download at developer Larian Studios' Divinity music site for a long time already. Nonetheless, if you're unfamiliar with the tracks I highly recommend them for download. "Forest" is my favorite piece. Check it out! |
