RPG Vault chats to PM Studios' project head Fabio Belsanti and Lead Programmer Dario Pelella about their techno-fantasy action/RPG 'Etrom' in this interview:Jonric: What differentiates your game from others that might initially seem similar, especially within the same category?
Fabio Belsanti: In our game, you will not try to save the world, and you are not the kind of hero that will become the strongest man in the universe... The videogame and the epic narrative operas in general (and the fantasy RPG in particular) are often (if not always) based on stereotypes like the one I said before... to make a long story short, in the typical fantasy RPG the story is just like "Destroy the evil and save the world!" Or maybe, if the game is really innovative, "Ally with the evil, became an ogre and/or a Dark Knight..."
Etrom is not so simplistic.
Etrom is not simplistic in any features, not only in the story. The game is dedicated to everyone who has the time and the will to discover the multiple facets of our project.
At the beginning of the game, Etrom might be perceived as just like another point and click action RPG inspired by Diablo ("another clone"), but this is not the real nature of our opera.
The story, the background and the new RPG system on which the game is based make Etrom really different from any other game in its genre. |
