This Addon improves the atmosphere (closer to Gothic 1) of Gothic 2, many new quests, a new world and a better combat balance -> it would be a 10 if there were not some side quest killing bugs. Overall 150 hours of fun. |

Greetings!
I played Gothic, Gothic2 and now i am playing the Addon for about 25 hours or so..
I am impressed by the game since Gothic, in my opinion the best RPG ever made.
The details in the game show great dedication from the developers and the story is not only exciting but "realistic"(as realistic a RPG can be ;-) ).
Although there are some bugs i rate this game 10, because i dont think it is easy to develop such a game, and everyone makes mistakes..
I was quite suspicious, when i read that i have to play the Game again from the beginning with the Addon, but the storyline changes right after the beginning and it was fun to play it again to see all the differences(so far..).

this is what Gothic2 should have been.
many things have been cleared up, the addon-area is very nice, but the whole game is much more difficult, and more frustrating at the begin, namely lvl 2-9.
you should really stay out of the woods... :-(

Adds a lor of value to an already great game. The new areas are varied and truly beautiful, even better landscaping than the original areas. The new story is interesting and nicely integrated into the original game. I think the developers overdid it a bit when they changed the difficulty settings and the minimum stats for the better weapons are just outrageous now. For people who havent played all three careers yet its a must have, but the new adventure is worth playing even if you don't want to play the whole game again. |

I have played through Gothic 1 and Gothic 2, and I must say that there are something special with those games. It not just the pretty graphics and atmosphere, but it is the attention to the details that really gets to me. I have big hopes for the addon for Gothic 2, more of the same and then some is what I am hoping for :) |

The new game sounds and looks good. Well new to non germans. anyway, i thought gothic 1 and two were brilliant, but one thing annoyed me. Deigo. he was real cool in the first game, but now they have given him spastic texas farmer accent, and i want it seen too that if an english version of Night of the Raven comes out, deigo has the his cool gothic 1 accent. lol |

I played this version in another language. So just the best RPG from far even if for the action, only the close combat system is great. Not the best story line but living world takes its meaning there and the add-on adds even more density. After that every other RPG look a little artificial. The best is that despite the extreme complexity, it's hard to find any quest bugs. |

I've been playing CRPGs since 1983 and Ultima III on the C64.
Night of the Raven is BETTER than System Shock 2, Duex Ex, Baulders Gate II, Morrowind, KotOR, etc. Yes, those are big words and yes I loved those games.
The only RPG that may be better is u7 if you count it's two expansions as the U7 experience. Not only is NotR one of the all time greats, it ranks higher than some of the other timeless classics. A MUST PLAY for any RPG fan. |

How they seemlessly added this to the G2 world is a marvel. A just to make sure former G2 players didn't get too bored, they made this game way way way way way way harder. The game has its flaws (some bugs and CTDs) but it is not enough to detract from it oveall splender. And until, an RPG "starts" to match the living world of gothic, atop its perch it stays. |
