Blade & Sword has been reviewed at Gigex. The score is 2.5/5 and here's a clip with B&S losing the obligatory comparison with Diablo 2:If you take a stripped down version of Diablo II and set it in China, you would have Blade & Sword. This is no exaggeration. Developed by a Chinese game studio and brought over to the states, this game borrows so much from Diablo that there should be a copyright issue involved. You choose from three different adventurers: a slow but powerful heavy swordsman; a more agile light swordsman; and a twin-bladed heroine who is fast but has less endurance. Of these selections, the heavy swordsman is nearly unstoppable. This title epitomizes the hack-'n-slash genre in that it is the only thing to do! The archer and magic classes don't exist, but each character has special "Chi" abilities that work just like magic. By earning skill points through killing, players will be able to purchase special kung-fu maneuvers that require chi (mana) to execute. Skill points can also be spent to upgrade these abilities. Purchase all three moves within a category and you will be able to perform a super-move that requires a lot of fighting to build up rage power. The player then holds down the "alt" key and uses the mouse to draw a corresponding symbol on the screen, like in Black and White. However, though you can level up and earn skill points, you cannot allocate points toward specific attributes like strength, speed or defense. All those things are automatically filled in. | Source: GenGamers |
