One of the first sites to have a review of Big Blue Box'/Lionhead's/Microsoft's fantasy RPG 'Fable' for XBox is TeamXBox and they found the game worthy of 9.1/10 points.
I’ll have to admit that I was somewhat intimidated when first accepting the task of taking on the Fable review. I mean, this is a game we’ve been discussing for nearly 4 years; a game that promised to be the most epic RPG of our time. Back when it was still known as Project Ego, the magnitude of half the concepts that Peter Molyneux and his team were embarking on simply blew my mind. Promises of a living, breathing world that would grow and develop just like your character, 30-40 hours of gameplay for the core story quests alone, and a theoretically never-ending game where your every decision has high-level consequences; yeah, that would intimidate even the most seasoned gamer. Since Fable’s announcement back in 2001, much of the game has changed, but the core focus has remained the same. While we might not be able to see an acorn become the mighty oak, Fable still takes a completely different approach to how RPG games are made and played. So now the big question is, was Fable worth the wait? For that answer, my dear friends, you’ll have to wait just a bit longer.
