Intelgamer has posted a review of the Wizardry 8 demo. The demo is very well received (score is 94%!), as you can see from this snippit:

Luckily, Wizardry has popped it’s head up again, and if you download the demo you will see the Gameplay of yesteryear combined with years of design experience. The game is simply amazing, and from the demo, it looks like the best dungeon fantasy since Ultima Underworld. Mind you, this is not coming from a Wizardry fanatic. I followed Ultima and Bard’s Tale, Wizardry was a product that stemmed from Apple computers, and therefore it was evil. I played Wizardry 6 and 7 and got frustrated with them both and quit halfway through.

So, where does this title go right? It does it with style. The characters speak and add to the atmosphere as you walk down the hallway, and when someone dies, they comment on the loss to the party. If you stand around, they moan and whine. They alert you to monsters up ahead. But the style doesn’t stop there.

Nor should you - head over and read it :-)
