Xequted's Herbert "Deadpixel" Urban unveils his somewhat upbeat review on The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: The Silver Earring, in which he awards Sherlock and faithful sidekick Dr. Watson a 34 out of a 50 total possible rating...

One interesting aspect of gameplay is the way you get to control both Holmes and Watson, but at different times and places decided by the game. But this means you almost never see Holmes and Watson in the same place having their clever conversations about paradoxes and conundrums. This is especially unfortunate considering it would add the much needed character to the rag doll that is Sherlock Holmes that we mentioned before. Nevertheless, this dual character control provides an interesting break from info gathering with one character at one location that can quickly become stagnant after a while. Beware of this staleness, because the story will not progress until certain conditions are met, some of which can include finding an important object that’s only 3 pixels wide.
