VE has spotted a very interesting posting at the official Freedom Force forums (the more you hear about this game, the more interesting it gets) about a playing seesion of a fan at Irrational games' studios in Canberra. He reported his findings, and from what he told, this game will be a lot of fun and a nice diversion from the standard RPG settings. Here's a bit from his report:
Well, considering how everything in the universe is an object, which is mainly a feature when you want to wreck stuff (I did have fun in one scenario stopping a bad guy by dropping a building on him), I wondered if cars could hit people. Dumb question as it turns out: of course they can. I found out this out while brawling in the street and not paying attention to the trafficr (hint: what happens to people in the real world when they get hit by cars? Well, pretty much the same thing happens in FF, only BIGGER. It took a few minutes for Minute Man to get back to the action).

There were a few interface changes, but they didn't take long to get my head around. I also had a better chance to experiment with different power settings. Last time I knew you could determine how powerful an attack was by right clicking on the attack menu. Power up = more energy, power down = less energy. This time I actually used it and liked the additional flexibility it gave me. It's easier to chew through the flunkies, and you can really haul off and whack someone when you need to.
