Internal Affairs: Hosted sites

Yesterday's Internal Affairs about the plugins I use for Morrowind received some discussion, and I was asked to post the actual list of plugins I use. Well, you can find it here :-)

Today I want to talk a little about our hosted sites. As you might know, RPGDot isn't just RPGDot. There are five other sites we host on our server, and they are run by fans for fans. They share the same database, but have independent crews.

GothicDot is - without doubt - the most complete source for english news about Gothic and Gothic 2. Apart from the shared news they offer their own articles and a very active fandom. GothicDot is the second oldest hosted site here, run by Gorath and friends.

The Locus Inn, run by Myrthos, is the oldest one and deals with Divine Divinity, the Icewind Dales and Baldur's Gate 2. It has a lot of content, is well organized and well worth a visit.

MorrowindDot deals with Morrowind and Morrowind: Tribunal. For the time being, it is run by yours truly, but we are looking for dedicated fans to take over this job. Maintainance of the site is easy, but I simply lack the time to do as much as I want. If you are interested in running this fan site, please let us know.

The same is true for NeverwinterDot. We update the news there through RPGDot, but for a small group of fans or a reliable single person, this would be an ideal place to run a site about this game. It's not so much the news one would have to take care of, but articles about modules, walkthroughs and such.

The next of our sites is Garrett's ArxDot. This site is about Arx Fatalis (hey, did you notice that RPGDot is cited on the Arx cover for the UK?), and Garrett offers a lot of goodies there.

We are currently working on another hosted site, which should go online soon. It will deal with an upcoming RPG, and as soon as we are ready (as soon as the webmaster there is ready, too), we will let you know. We are, of course, open for suggestions for other hosted sites, and we will set them up as long as we think that the ones asking us for it will be reliable webmasters. Due to our database and the unified design of our sites, setting them up is not too hard, and we can get them going within a short period of time. I am proud to say that we have created a fast and reliable environment for fan sites ( fist, our server is up without a glitch for more than 3 months now, and it is fast and stable, and second: you are amongst fans, not amongst coroprate dudes *g*), so we invite you to become part of the RPGDot family.
