"UberAdmin" Plex has once again updated the FAQ at JoWood's message boards.

Let's see if I can do a better job than Altavista ;)
  • Q: Did you use motion capturing for the characters in Gothic II?

  • A: We're using some motion capturing data from Gothic I. Everything else is kind of like "hand-made"...
  • Q: Will every character class be able to access any area in the game? Or are there limitations due to a character's abilities?

  • A: There are no class specific limitations. All three character types will be able to go anywhere they want.
  • Q: Will I be able to team up with a friend to fight together (like in a party)?

  • A: Just like in Gothic I, there will be characters who will join your hero temporarily to aid you in combat but there won't be any permanent party members.
  • Q: Can I tame an animal and then e.g. use it as means of transportation?

  • A: There will definitely be no riding (on horseback or other creatures) in Gothic II but taming in general sounds interesting. We'll think about it...
  • Q: When are you going to unveil the Dragon Hunter character class? What about screenshots?

  • A: The Dragon Hunter... is coming soon...
  • Q: Will we able to go fishing in Gothic II?

  • A: We discussed this idea internally but dropped it eventually.
  • Q: Will weapons be "stackable"?

  • A: In short: YES.
  • Q: Are there going to be any non-magic guilds?

  • A: Yes but we don't want to go into detail on that yet. We'll reveal that info at a later point in time. Anyway, scrolls can be used by every character class.
