There is a preview of Dark Age of Camelot over at Barshemm. It's a nice suzmmary of some known facts -like this paragraph about trade skills:
Tradeskills - I keep mentioning those tradeskills. Old fans of UO are especially curious I am sure for, frankly, no game has come close to UO in this paticular area and because of this in other recent games tradeskills have not had much use really. This changes now. Player crafted items are among the best items in the game, better than the items you can buy in stores, and those with high tradeskills can repair items, as well as salvage material from otherwise useless items to use in your tradeskills practice.
Finally someone goes back to the root of UO as well as you do not need to level to increase your tradeskills, this is a point most games missed, forcing the tradesman to go to combat to get better at his craft, I fail to see how the delicate hands of a crafter would be useful in battle, and apparently so does Mythic. You can play this game as a merchant, and be quite successful. Your base class will determine which tradeskills you can master, and from all your options you can only master in one. Also a system is in place that allows you to make some money while working on your trade skills, so that you can continue to work on them without having to go kill mobs for money.
The level based restrictions in game for wearing guild emblems even have atradeskill counterpart. So that a level 1 tradesperson who has high smithing skill can also emblazon a shield or cloak with their guilds crest (read further). | Source: RPGVault |
