RPGVault brings us their Earth & Beyond Q&A #3, talking to Paul Mudra, the audio director for Westwood Studios. Here's a bit:
Jonric: How big a job is the sound portion of Earth & Beyond, and what does it involve? How many people form the sound team, what are their respective functional areas, and how does this project and team size compare to other projects you've worked on?
Paul Mudra: The audio creation for Earth & Beyond is a pretty massive undertaking. We currently have a six-person audio team, and are now in "crunch" mode, now that the project is nearing completion. We normally have only one or two audio people, plus a musician or two that would float in and out as needed. We recently hired Stan Neuvo as Earth & Beyond's dedicated audio specialist to work on sound design and implementation for the production and post-live stages of the game. Stan's audio accomplishments are really great, and he had the game experience that we were looking for. |
