Tom's Hardware Guide Games & Entertainment has posted a review of Phenomic's RPG/RTS 'SpellForce: The Order of Dawn'. Rating: 9/10. Thanks to Gorath from our network site GothicDot for sending me a mail with the link and thanks to Jung from our forums for making a post with the link so Gorath could find and forward it :) .
The game was developed by Phenomic, a German studio established by one of the fathers of The Settlers series. SpellForce has been eagerly awaited for a long time by all the fans of games based on medieval fantasy. The title cleverly combines two types of game with ease: adventure games and realtime strategy games. This is a pretty delicate exercise, but SpellForce doesn't stop there. The game dares to combine various sources of inspiration. It's difficult when playing it not to be reminded somehow of the mechanics of such titles as Rage of Mage, Diablo, or Warcraft III, or even of the Middle Earth of Lord of the Rings.
