Firingsquad has written a review of AC 2. Their rating is not too famous, just 73%. Their summary tells you why:
Asheron’s Call 2 is just one of those strange games that has it all on paper, executes the design properly and yet doesn’t capture the imagination. It’s a fantastically sound concept and isn’t lacking in innovation either. We’re particularly enamored with Turbine’s decision to continue the evolving storyline tradition from AC and supplement it with the vaults. On the gameplay front, Turbine included some real races (as opposed the original’s 3 colors of humans) and MMORPGers worldwide have to be stoked about the skill deletion feature. On top of that, the game is packed in a wonderful engine that is very customizable.
