The official Shadowbane site has been updated with an article entitled "Battle for the Southland: The Enemy of My Enemy". Here's an excerpt:
This scene was repeated again as the elves did throw themselves at the Legion again, having been reconstructed by their tree of life. Only to be defeated in much the same way. However their two suicidal charges had weakened the diversionary force, and the summoners there were having a hard time bringing in sufficient reinforcements. Again they came, this time from the west, with even more troops this time and did attack the bulwark again. The charge was met with grim resolve, the magics of the heavens was called down and the swordsmen did charge yet again. The general charged into the melee himself, downing several elves, before retreating to the bulwarks to survey the scene. Looking over the field of battle he saw the elves regrouping under the cover of their wall archers, with perhaps half their number left alive, which was at least equal to the whole of the force originally at the bulwark. Looking at his troops he saw 10 troops left, all weary and bloodied by the constant combat. Looking to the sky he saw the sun past its zenith, meaning only a few hours remained until the bane circle would be vulnerable. Making a chopping signal to the north the remaining troops did make for the hills, in order to regroup and resupply. |
