Cleve Blakemore made this announcement on the official Grimoire boards several days ago:

    Grimoire Engine has HIT stability!!!!!

    1. Any/all features listed in notes approved for inclusion in
    game are working.

    2. All interfaces working.

    3. No replicatable fatal bugs in game that cause
assertions/crashes outside of some data being incomplete but
this is so rare I can't duplicate it or find any at the moment.

    4. No incomplete or unimplemented functional parts of the engine
remain to be coded or fixed that I can see.

    5. The scenario is still at around 60%, an estimation based on
the amount of text I have in the GAMETEXT library and how much
has actually been installed in pointers in the maps. There is no
reason testing cannot begin while I continue to work on the
scenario. I am totally sincere when I say that the estimated 40%
remaining to do in the scenario (remember this is all work in
the editors, not in the code base) is a one month job. The basic
logic needed to finish the game is present but so much more is
intended for the game that has not been hooked up in the editors
as of yet, its just notes, data and text in the text library.

    6. FELLOWS, THIS GAME IS READY FOR BETA TESTING!!!! HURRAY!!!!
Grimoire is a Wizardry like hard core RPG which has been postponed more than once (actaully more than twice also and even more than 5 times during the past years), but now is said to be definitely out before the end of 2001 - we are looking forward to it!
