Vivendi 'Middle Earth Online' producer and ex-BIS luminary Chris Taylor has been interviewed at PC.IGN about the decsision to delay the game to 2005:
When asked why the game had been delayed, producer Chris Taylor had nothing extremely surprising to say. "Primarily we were just taking a look at the game and we want to make sure that it really has enough time. These games are awfully big. When we started this game over two years ago we knew that Turbine had a lot of experience making games this size, but it turned out that adding all the Tolkien lore and getting that right is just taking a little bit more time. There's a lot of detail and we really want to make sure that we get that across. It's important to us because this is the world of Middle-Earth and that world wasn't built in a day."
