Blizzard has unveiled a new feature that should come in very handy in its upcoming RPS game Warcraft 3. Click here to learn more about sub grouping.
Huh ? Sub groups ? Right. Here's some explanatory aid:
A new system is in place for group-selected units that allows better control of battles involving multiple unit types. When you select different types of units together in a group, the units automatically subgroup by unit type. You can then select subgroups within the group and use their special abilities without having to deselect the group. If you’re controlling a group comprising these subgroups, one of the subgroups is always highlighted (indicated by the current portrait model and the size and highlight of the units in the info card). The special abilities particular to the highlighted subgroup-such as spells, inventory, etc.-are available in the command card (in addition to the basic orders such as Move and Attack, which the entire group will follow regardless of which subgroup is highlighted).
