Eve Universe has a interview with producer Mike Wallis, talking about their upcoming space MMORPG. Here's a bit from that:
4. Q: Is everything corporation-dependent or will there be things for solo players to enjoy also?
A: NPC encounters, exploration of space wrecks, protection in numbers, just to name a few. The team has been actively working to increase the number of NPC encounters and their difficulty levels: pirates prowling asteroid fields come in many sizes now; from frigates to cruisers and battleships. We’ve also added other NPC encounters, such as ship wreckage, to discover and explore. While flying in the less secure, more lawless areas of space, players may want to travel with other players, since the likelihood of being attacked by hostile players is much greater in those areas.
Everything in EVE requires money—manufacturing, weapons (missiles & expendable ammunition), purchasing rare minerals, purchasing skill packs. But there are plenty of ways for non-corporation players to earn it - mining, selling of items & “loot,” trading commodities, playing the stock market, completing missions. |
