Mopdus Operandi (formerly Wyrmgod alias G.T. Noonan), level designer for Morrowind, has posted this statement on the Elder Scrolls forums, regarding the release date for the game:
That's the key, what you just said. We put our all behind it, and our backs into it as well. Believe it or not, we DID make the milestone we had set for the game, but we decided that the game could use more polishing, even testing. It's not like we worked 12-16 hours a day for 3 months, some even more, just to pull a fast one. Poo happens and we feel bad about it. But, it's all good and we see a great opportunity to improve Morrowind in all aspects.
*ramblings of freak developers at 3:30am are products of heavily worked, under nourished, and seldom sober thoughts. we should never be seen or heard. that's what my g/f tells me anyways*
In all actuality, this delay is for the best, because now we are able to polish this thing till it's squeaky clean. Trust me, with the time that I have now, I can really work these dungeons to the "T" and continue playtesting to mash any bugs in my path.
Carry on now, I need sleep....zzzZZZzzzZZZzzz... |
