PC Paradox holds an interview with Raphael Colantonio about Arkane Studio's upcoming RPG Arx Fatalis. Here's a bit:
PC Paradox: Is safe to say that the demonstration of Arx Fatalis is an accurate portrayal of the full game? Are there any missing features that will be implemented in the final version?
Raphael Colantonio: Yes and no...Before I answer your question, let me remind you how important it is to note that the demo we released was at a beta stage. This was a very good way for us to get a lot of feedbacks from players and give us enough time to react to those feedbacks: since then, we've fixed many crashes, we've added a lot of controls customizations, changed the player's head movements and the fighting anims, fixed some graphical glitches, added some solid physics, we'll also add some performance optims...
Now, to answer your question, I'd say that the demo only gives a small sneak peak of the game, there is so much variety in the game that we couldn't concentrate it all in one little demo. Also, the demo is a bit linear, as it represents the very begining of the game as well as the tutorial, so we didn't want to confuse the players too much with a multithread scenario at this stage. |
