According to this thread, the patch will be version 1.3x and offer a lot of changes, especially in the Sound/Videosystem and fulfill some wishes by gamers, for example a short cut key for adjusting the line of sight; the patch needs thorough testing, so it may take more time. Save games will be compatible, but playing on with old save games is not recommended. Source: World of Gothic
