10/10 is the score for Baldur's Gate 2 - Shadows of Amn in a review at Gamers Press. Here's a bit:

One of the great things that BG2 offers is an abundance of side quests. Many of them do not have a damn thing to do with the central story, but are all add to the gaming experience. It is like a breath of fresh air to have a game come along that is not so linear as many games tend to be today. The only problem with a game that is so large is that it has created a new booming industry?the hint book, AKA the Evil Tome of Spoilers. I rarely purchase clue books, unless I get so stuck and become so unpleasant to be around my wife sends me to the store to buy one. So far I have not needed to use one for this game, besides I can always call Stinger?he buys every clue book he can. As with any game there has to be some ultimate quest to be completed, and could be finished without completing the side quests. But the side quests are a lot of fun, so take your time to finish as many as you can, you will get more out of the game that way. Plus, as you may or may not know, Never Winter Nights will let you import your BG2 characters. So you will want to get as much experience and levels as possible, so you can import to Never Winter Nights or, dare I say?Baldur's Gate 3.
