Talking about Eve Online: The latest beta diary has been posted at the official site. Here's a part of Overkill's long report:
One thing I have found EVE possesses, which most other MMPOGs lack, is scalability. Once EVE goes online and the universe begins to fill with stations, planets, corporate territories, established shipping lanes, asteroid belts etc, there is always the possibility that the developers of CCP can expand upon the game without having to create whole new universes, towns, villages or a new set of rules. They can simply expand upon what they already have using the same system of rules, the same graphics and the same look. There are simply countless opportunities and possibilities for a platform like EVE.
Now, with the start of Phase 4, many more things will be added to the game dynamic. The Corporation system is getting smoother and smoother and from what I can tell more of the actual Corporation options are going online such as roles having an affect on what each Corporation member can and cannot do as well as the bill system. Oh you didn’t know? Yes, Corporations have to pay bills just like everyone else. There are bills for corporate station hangers to corporate branch offices and if you don’t pay them, you don’t get to use them. |
