A couple of sites reviewed Everquest: Shadows of Luclin lately: Gamespy has a rather detailed one, rating the game 87/100. The one at IGN.PC is very positive, too, giving it 8.5 points out of 10. The third review is at Gamesdomain is less positive, but still the game gets 3.5 out of 5 stars. Their conclusion reads like this:
As with past expansions, Luclin has hugely increased Everquest's horizons. The game is an odyssey, a huge epic that has the ability to swallow your gaming time in a terrifying and seductive manner. The community is astonishing -- a brief search on Google brings up approximately 412,000 separate sites -- that's about one for every player of the game. With that kind of kudos behind it, the title's mystique is nearly overwhelming; the mere process of playing becomes a ritual that is hard to escape, not least because even after two years, the game itself is eminently enjoyable, and Luclin adds a suitable raft of content for hardcore players of the game to enjoy. If it wasn't for the omnipresent gaggle of bugs and issues, and the somewhat overbearing technical specifications, we wouldn't have a problem recommending it heartily. |
