RPGVault has publsihed an interview with Sergey Zabaryansky from Deep Shadows about their upcoming action/RPG Xenus. Here's a bit:
Jonric: What's the fundamental idea underlying Xenus, and what are your primary goals at the conceptual level in terms of the type or style of game you want it to be when it's completed?
Sergey Zabaryansky: The idea of the game was born in May 2001. We decided that our next project would be a PC 3D action RPG that takes place in the near future in a huge, not-subdivided territory. We didn't want to create another 3D shooter game. Our idea was to simulate the investigation process in the world where there are a lot of contra forces that fight for the power. That is why we selected Colombia as the place of action. So, the key element of the game is investigation. Maybe the best way to describe the genre of Xenus is to say that it's 3D Investigation. If you follow our game info link below the headline, you can reach their homepage and have a look at some very nice sreenshots from the game... |
