Good morning, fellow gamers. Having had a bad night with little sleep, for no apparent reason, I'll nevertheless take you on the news tour here at RPGDot. First of all, RPGVault has posted a Imperator development report. Imperator is the next big online thingie by the guys from Mythic Entertainment, and Mark Jacobs keeps you up to date with the latest happenings in the development of what is meant to be a contender for Star Wars: Galaxies (although Imperator will take some more time to hit the stores):
Unlike Mythic's previous effort, Dark Age of Camelot, which Mark himself has often described as evolutionary, Imperator is aiming to push the frontiers of the online genre and to provide more of a revolutionary gaming experience. Compared to the current title, it will focus more on player versus environment play (PvE) over player versus player (PvP), although certainly not to the exclusion of the latter. Mark made it quite clear "there may be some PvP in places like the Coliseum," which would seem to indicate that the strong gladiator tradition of ancient Rome will still be alive in Imperator. |
