Thanks to Lepidus from the Vault Network for sending along word that they have another 'EverQuest II' Ask SOE Q&A at EQ Vault today.

Here's a bit:
Lepidus: Your FAQ boasts that a main goal of EQII is "to design methods of gameplay that will facilitate both casual and hardcore players." What types of in-game systems and mechanics will make this possible?

Steve "Moorgard" Danuser: The introduction of new types of social structures certainly helps support varying styles of play. If you enjoy competing against other players, a Guild is definitely for you. If you prefer to be more laid-back and just want to group with like-minded players, a Family may be just what you're looking for. If you have a small group of friends you want to play with on a regular basis, a Fellowship will help you stick together.

We are designing the majority of our content with a single group of four to six players in mind. This allows us to create a deep, meaningful experience that players can share, regardless of their play style. Our raid content is built for two to four groups working together, depending on the encounter. This means fun isn't limited based on your ability to amass a huge army of players to fight mobs, but rather on being able to assemble a tightly knit group of highly skilled players.
