HomeLan Fed has an interview with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic project director and producer Casey Hudson:
HomeLAN - When the time came to concentrate on the PC version of the game, what were the main goals for the development team?

Casey Hudson - We have developed both the PC and the Xbox versions at the same time, so once the Xbox version shipped, we were very close to being finished with the PC version. Our focus at that point was perfecting the interface and optimizing the game for smooth, detailed graphics on PC systems. A lot of care has gone into implementing features that players expect from a PC game, such as hotkeys, efficient mouse control, scalable graphics options, etc.
Casey also states 'We’re now in the final stages of testing and bug fixing, so we expect to see it on shelves in a matter of weeks.'
